Mahjong tournament in Chengdu, China

Here is the most important information you need to know:

  • Wellness Mahjong has their own set of rules that are used in tournament. Go to this blog page for all information.
  • A tournament flyer in PDF with all practical information is available. Players find the way to Chengdu on their own, pick-up in the airport can be arranged. The entire stay from October 22-26 costs $699 and cover the tournament, hotel, transportation in Chengdu and sightseeing (Panda Base ticket included).
  • On day 2 of the tournament, we will likely play with local Mahjong rules as they are played in Chengdu. I will know more about these rules as we approach October, but don’t worry: as with other big board games, Mahjong has a lot of variations, but once you know the basics of the game, it is easy to adopt. Also, there will be a 3-hour workshop the day before the tournament.
  • Applying for a Chinese visa is easier than you think! It takes 4-5 business days after submission, and the organizers will provide an invitational letter. My wife and I will gladly assist with any questions regarding the visa – and to ease the process, we have created this blog page. Here, you can download the Visa Application Form directly, among other things.

Again, don’t hesitate to contact me if you are intrigued by this Chinese adventure! The sooner, the better.
