As a minimum, the participants know the rules of chess and checkmate/stalemate. Preferably, they have already played games with family/friends or online or have participated in their first tournament.
The Step Method workbooks used in this class are Step 1 and 2. I will rely heavily on the Step Method by Rob Brunia & Cor van Wijgerden (60-70%), but I do keep the classes open to other materials, depending on the need of the students. We will also do game analysis.

These ongoing classes have no fixed curriculum. Instead, new material is introduced from class to class.
The level will be adjusted to the participants. With a smaller group, I am able to more closely follow each player.
