A month after my arrival in New York, I decided it was time to find out options for buying chess books in the city. I already knew The Strand from recent visits – it has a department for books on both chess and games – but recently I visited the Fred Wilson book store in New York with my good friend Harold Scott
On the 3rd floor in a building that more looked like housing units, Fred had his small, but interesting chess book store. I managed to find a book on studies (in Russian) and one on Correspondence Chess. A lot of good stuff there, check out the chess store online here.
